The advocate-members of Kanpur Bar Association (KBA) will cast their votes through QR code voters slip in the KBA repoll.
The Elders’ Committee has informed the members through a notice that a joint committee of police commissionerate & the Elders Committee have decided to conduct the voting through QR code voter slip. The distribution of voter slips will begin from April 4 at the computer counter from 12.30 pm.
Dharamveer Singh Gaur, chairman of the Elders Committee said in the absence of voters' slips, advocate members won't be permitted to cast vote. As the voter slip will be generated only once, therefore, the members should keep it carefully, he said.
Meanwhile, Lawyer Pawan Kumar Tiwari, who is contesting the election, met the Police Commissioner & gave him a memorandum regarding the repoll. He suggested using a biometric thumb impression machine for entry into the voting room to ensure a fair election.
The Elders Committee had conducted the polling in Dec 2021 but it was cancelled due to unrest & violence. One Lawyer had lost his life after the poll violence.
