In view of the high spike in the COVID-19 Cases in the state and lack of medical treatment and facilities, the Awadh Bar Association, Lucknow has requested the Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Yadav to direct the State Government to convert chamber of lawyers and Hospital located in High Court’s premises into temporary COVID-19 Hospital with the capacity of 100 beds.

The President of Awadh Bar Association, Lucknow, H.G.S Parihar, has requested in its letter that more than 10,000 Advocates and their assistant of Lucknow High Court Bench are suffering from Coronavirus and they need medical treatment. It was also highlighted by the President in its letter that due to lack of medical facility, they have already lost many members of its Bar Association family.

To provide better treatment and medical help to Covid-19 positive Advocates, practicing lawyers, and their assistant of Lucknow High Court Bench, the association has requested that Block D, E, F of Advocate Chamber and Multilevel Parking and Auditorium situated within High Court’s premises should be converted in temporary 100 Bed Covid hospital.

The Association has also requested the Court to direct the state to provide 100 Oxygen Cylinder in a hospital situated in Court premises for emergency situation until the said conversion takes place.
