1. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
2. Looking at the peculiar facts of the case, we direct that 50% of the principal amount paid to the appellant by way of back wages shall be returned to the respondent-employer within four weeks from today.
3. It is clarified that no interest on the amount paid shall be returned. If the amount is not repaid as directed hereinabove, the amount shall be returned with 6% interest p.a. thereon from the date the amount was paid.
4. The appeals are disposed of as allowed to the above extent with no order as to costs.
