A closure report was filed by the
Investigating Officer in the Case Crime
No.343 of 2023, registered at Police Station
Bahadarabad, District Haridwar under
Section 304B of the Indian Penal Code,
1860.
2. The applicant, the father of the
deceased, had filed a protest petition. The
protest petition was dismissed and the
closure report was accepted. A Criminal
Revision (Criminal Revision No.18 of 2025)
was filed by the applicant. The said revision
has been dismissed vide judgment dated
04.09.2025, passed by learned IInd
Additional Sessions Judge, Haridwar.
3. Heard Mr. Sajjad Ahmad, learned
counsel and Mr. Mohd. Umar, learned
counsel for the applicant and Mr. Pradeep Lohani, learned Brief Holder for the
respondent no.1.
4. Mr. Sajjad Ahmad, Advocate, submitted
that the deceased died within five years of
her marriage. She was harassed for demand
of dowry. As per the post-mortem report, the
cause of death was asphyxia due to anti-
mortem drowning.
5. Notice is being issued to the respondent
nos.2 to 4. Steps to be taken within a week.
