Instant appeal is preferred against the judgment and order dated 24.07.2023, passed in Special Sessions Trial No. 17 of 2022, State of Uttarakhand Vs. Pushkar Singh Bisht, by the Court of Special Judge (NDPS), Almora. By it, the appellant has been convicted under Sections 8 read with 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 ("the Act") and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 10 years with a fine of Rs.1,00,000/-. In default of payment of fine, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a further period of four months. It is delayed by 83 days.
