3. An application seeking exemption from requirement of filing affidavit in support of bail application has been filed.
4. Learned State Counsel does not oppose the same.
5. For the reasons indicated in the application, the same is allowed. The requirement of filing affidavit in support of bail application is exempted.

6. This is an appeal against conviction, filed under Section 374(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, through Legal Aid Counsel.
7. By the impugned judgment dated 19.08.2023, and sentence order dated 22.08.2023, passed in Special Session Trial No.151 of 2022, the appellant has been convicted for offence punishable under Section 8/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and sentenced to twelve years rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs.1,20,000/- and, in default of payment of fine, he was sentenced to undergo eight months' simple imprisonment.
