Present Jail Appeal has been received through Superintendent, District Jail, Almora.

2. Appellant - Aamir Khan has been convicted and sentenced, vide judgment dated 15.03.2023, passed by learned Special Sessions Judge (NDPS), Almora in Special Sessions Trial No.18 of 2020, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years along with a fine of Rs.10,000/- for the offence under Section 8 read with Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and, in default of payment of fine, he has been directed to undergo additional rigorous imprisonment for a period of three months.

3. Heard Mr. T.C. Agarwal, learned Deputy Advocate General assisted by Ms. Lata Negi, learned Brief Holder for the State.

4. Mr. Shobhit Saharia, Advocate, is appointed as Amicus curiae to assist the Court.

5. Admit.

6. Summon Lower Court Record.
