Upon hearing the learned Counsel, the Court made the following

JUDGMENT : (per Sri S.K. Mishra, A.C.J.)

None appears for the petitioners.

2. Mr. J.S. Virk, the learned Deputy Advocate

General for the State of Uttarakhand, submits that the

petitioner had filed a Writ Petition (PIL), and aggrieved by

the same, some persons had allegedly assaulted him.

After the order passed by this Court on 20.05.2021,

police protection has been granted to the petitioner. It is further stated that FIR has been lodged against the

persons, who had allegedly assaulted the petitioner, and

after investigation charge-sheet has also been submitted.

3. In that view of the matter, the Writ Petition is

disposed of by directing the Senior Superintendent of

Police, District Haridwar, to reexamine the matter, and to

take a decision whether it is necessary to continue

providing police protection to the petitioner, after taking

intelligence from the S.H.O. concerned within 21 days. If

it is borne out from the intelligence received that still the

threat perception perceives, the police shall continue

giving adequate police protection to the petitioner.

However, it is made clear that the disposal of this Writ

Petition shall not be given any negative weightage.

4. With the aforesaid observations, the Writ

Petition is disposed of.

5. In sequel thereto, all pending applications also

stand disposed of.

6. Urgent certified copy of this order be issued to

the parties, as per Rules.

7. A free copy of this order shall be provided to

the learned Deputy Advocate General for the State

Government for onward communication and early

compliance.
