Mr. B. D. Upadhyaya, the learned Amicus Curiae appointed in this case has recused himself for arguing the case on the ground that he is not taking the criminal cases at present.
In view of the Judgment passed by Hon'ble Supreme Court, in Anokhi Lal vs. State of M.P., AIR 2020 SC 232, a counsel having 10 years experience can only be appointed as an Amicus Curiae to argue a criminal case, in which, the appellant has been awarded imprisonment for life. Hence, we appoint Ms. Manisha Bhandari, learned Advocate having more than 23 years experience and has also conducted several criminal cases, as an Amicus in this case. We also appoint Mr. Abhijay Negi, a young counsel who has passed out 5 years integrated course from the National Law University, Jodhpur to assist Ms. Manisha Bhandari.
The Registry is directed to prepare sufficient number of paper books and hand over two paper books to the learned counsels appearing as Amicus and the young Advocate assisting Ms. Manisha Bhandari.
Matter may be listed on 22nd of February, 2022.
