The present Criminal Appeal has been filed against the judgment dated 01.07.2022/02.07.2022, passed by the FTC/Additional Sessions Judge/Special Judge, POCSO, Udham Singh Nagar in Special Sessions Trial No. 583 of 2018, "State vs. Gauri Shankar", whereby the appellant has been convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of four years along with a fine of `20,000/- for the offence punishable under Section 7 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012; he has been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 354D of IPC and has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year along with a fine of `2,000/-, and, he has been further convicted and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one year along with a fine of `1,000/- for the offence punishable under Section 506 of IPC. All the sentences are directed to run concurrently.
Heard Mr. Lalit Sharma, learned counsel for the appellant and Mr. A.K. Sah, learned Deputy Advocate General for the State.
