The learned counsel for the petitioners, submits that Smt. Manu, D/o Rajeev, W/o Shekhar Kumar, the petitioner no.1, was born on 01.01.2003. Thus, she is a major person. Since the petitioners were in love with each other, they solemnized their marriage on 03.01.2021 in accordance with the Hindu rites and customs. However, the father of the petitioner no.1, Mr. Rajeev, is unhappy with the marriage of his daughter with petitioner no.2. Therefore, he has threatened the petitioners. Hence, their life is in danger. Thus, they seek police protection from this Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners gives an undertaking that, since the petitioner no.1 happens to be a physically challenged person, petitioner no.2 is willing to deposit Rupees Two Lakhs in favour of petitioner no.1, in a fixed deposit, with a nationalized bank, within a period of two weeks.

3. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar, the respondent no.2, is directed to provide police protection to the petitioners, and to take concrete steps against respondent no.3, or anyone else who threatens the life and privacy of the petitioners.

4. With these directions, the petition stands disposed of.
