Hon'ble Sharad Kumar Sharma, J.
Mr. Bharat Singh, Advocate, for the petitioner.
Mr. Azmeen Sheikh, CGSC, for the Union of India/1.
Ms. Anjali Bhargava, Advocate, for the BSNL/2.
The late father of the petitioner Shri Sunil Kumar, who was posted in the Telecom Department as "Telecom Mechanic", had met with the sad demise on 09.01.2021. The petitioner claiming himself to be dependent on the deceased, and has raised his claim for appointment on compassionate grounds, and hence a writ of mandamus is sought commanding the respondents to take a decision on the petitioner's application for appointment on compassionate grounds under the Dying in Harness Rules, as applicable to the department of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
After having considered the nature of the relief prayed for in the writ petition, where the petitioner has simplicitor sought a direction to the respondent No.2, to consider and pass an appropriate order on the petitioner's application for appointment on compassionate grounds, this writ petition is being disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2, to take a decision on the petitioner's application for the grant of compassionate appointment exclusively as per law within a period of two months from the date of the production of a certified copy of this judgment.
Subject to the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
