By means of filing this criminal revision petition, petitioner has

challenged the judgment and order dated 22.03.2021 passed by the

learned Sessions Judge, South Tripura, Belonia in case No. Criminal

Appeal 17 of 2019 affirming the judgment and order dated 05.07.2019

passed by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, South Tripura, Belonia in case No.

NI 06 of 2017 whereby the petitioner was convicted under section 138 NI

Act and he was sentenced to suffer SI for 1(one) year and a fine of

Rs.17,20,000/-.

Heard Mr. P.K. Biswas, learned senior advocate assisted by Mr.

P. Majumder, learned advocate for the petitioner.

Heard Mr. R. Datta, learned P.P appearing for respondent No.2.

Perused the record.

The appeal stands admitted. Issue rule returnable within

4(four) weeks.

Mr. Datta, learned P.P has waived rule on behalf of respondent

No.2.

Copy of the petition along with supporting documents have

been furnished to learned P.P.

Steps be taken for service of notice on private respondent

No.1.

Call for the LC record. The Registry shall prepare the paper

book soon after the LC record is received.
