1. Prayer in this petition is for further extension of parole afforded to the petitioner for another period of four weeks. Petitioner is undergoing the sentence of life imprisonment imposed upon him for the offence punishable under Section 302 IPC vide judgment/ order dated 27.03.2023 passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana.
2. It is submitted that petitioner had earlier been afforded the benefit of parole till 10.08.2024 by the Competent Authority. He unfortunately met with an accident on 01.07.2024 in which his right foot was crushed with a total loss of mid and forefoot. Surgery was performed on 06.07.2024 and his right foot had to be amputated. He is unable to stand without the help of any support and he was advised to bed rest till 30.09.2024. CRWP-7595-2024 was filed by petitioner seeking extension of parole afforded to him on 12.06.2024. Vide order dated 14.08.2024, benefit of parole afforded to him was extended till 04.09.2024 on the same terms and conditions as directed in the order dated 12.06.2024. Petitioner was directed to surrender before the concerned Jail authorities on 04.09.2024 by 3:00 P.M. Present petition has been filed for further extension of parole.

3. Learned counsel for the State (on advanced notice) informs that period of parole available to the petitioner has since been exhausted and in fact he has availed of days in excess. On instructions from, Mr. Inderpreet Singh, Assistant Superintendent Jail, Central Jail Ludhiana, it is submitted that medical condition of petitioner is not such, which cannot be taken care of by jail medical authorities. As per the medical certificate dated 30.08.2024, attached as Annexure P-2 with this petition, wound of petitioner is not fully healed and needs regular dressing and antibiotics.
4. Learned counsel for the State submits that complete and regular medical aid as required including antibiotics etc. shall be provided to the petitioner.
5. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and keeping in view the facts and circumstances as above, we do not find any ground for further extension of parole afforded to petitioner.
6. Needless to say proper treatment as required be provided regularly to the petitioner by jail authorities. In case of requirement of any expert opinion, petitioner may be referred to the concerned hospital for such purpose.
7. The petitioner is permitted to surrender before the jail authorities today i.e. 04.09.2024 by 5:00 P.M.
8. Petition stands dismissed accordingly.
