1. The prayer in the present petition is for directing the respondents to

confirm the petitioner as lecturer.

2. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner is seeking promotion in

P.E.S. Class-II (Punjab Education Services Class-II), with effect from the dates,

her junior had been confirmed as lecturers and promoted as such. However, his

claim was wrongly rejected vide order dated 13.07.1995, whereafter, the same

issue as involved in the present case, was decided by the Division Bench of this

Court in the case of Baldev Raj Preenja vs. State of Punjab and Others, 1997

(1) RSJ 571. He thus, at this stage, on instructions, submits that the petitioner

would be satisfied, in case, a direction is given to the respondents to decide and

consider the claim of the petitioner, keeping in view the aforesaid, in a time bound

manner by granting her an opportunity of hearing.

3. Learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made.

4. In view of the aforesaid and without commenting upon the merits of

the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondents to

consider and decide the claim of the petitioner, taking note of the judgment

referred to above as also the pleas raised, within a period of 6 months and if found

entitled, necessary benefits be granted to the petitioner forthwith. However, in the

eventuality of the relief being denied, a speaking order be passed, after associating

her therewith.
