1. The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of

the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents.

2. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioners.

3. In the present matter, petitioner No.1-Sandaya Devi, is married woman of 20 years and already has two children, and there is no threat perceptions coming forth, for which this petition has been filed.

4. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the present petition.

5. Accordingly, the present petition is dismissed without any

expression of opinion on the merits of the case.

6. It is made clear that filing or pendency of this petition or any order/direction passed in this petition shall not be an alibi or defence to the petitioners, in case, they are found involved in any illegal activity and the
