2. None appears for the petitioner at the time of call.
3. Heard Mr. N.K. Praharaj, learned Standing Counsel for the State.
4. Perused the record. The petitioner has filed this writ petition making multiple prayers in paragraph-7.
5. In the counter affidavit filed by opposite parties no.1 & 2, it is stated that following the judgment of the apex Court in Ajit Singh Januja v. State of Punjab, promotion has been given to opposite parties no.5, 6, 7, 9 & 10, who are senior to the petitioner, to the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil). Subsequently, the petitioner has got promotion to the rank of assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) in the year 1991.
6. In that view of the matter, there is no illegality or irregularity committed by the authority in giving promotion to private opposite parties no.5, 6, 7, 9 and 10. Since none is there to prosecute the matter, this Court is not inclined to adjourn the matter, as it is the case of the year 2002. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
