                   2.       Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned
                   Additional Government Advocate.

                   3.       This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for
                   a direction to the opposite parties to sanction and disburse the
                   compensation amount for acquisition of his land for the purpose of
                   construction of Upper Indravati Irrigation Project, Kusumkhunti as
                   per the judgment dated 24th December, 2016 passed by the
                   learned Senior Civil Judge, Bhawanipatna in L.A.R. No.156 of
                   2016 within a stipulated period.

                   4.       Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that pursuant to
                   an application filed under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act,
                   1894, L.A.R. No.156 of 2016 was registered before the learned
                   Senior Civil Judge, Bhawanipatna. The court below by judgment
                   dated 24th December, 2016 answered the reference. However, no
                   action has been taken as yet for sanction and disbursement of the
                   compensation amount in favour of the petitioner.

                   5.       Considering the above, this Court disposes of this Writ
                   Petition with a direction to opposite party No.1 to sanction the
                   amount at an early stage and thereafter the Special Land
                   Acquisition Officer, Kusumkhunti - opposite party No.3 shall take
                   consequential steps for disbursement of the compensation amount
                   in favour of the petitioner, if there will be no impediment. The entire

                   exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible,
                   preferably by end of May, 2021 on production of a copy of this
                   order.

6.    As there are certain restrictions due to pandemic COVID-19
situation are continuing, learned counsel for the parties may utilize
a soft copy of this order available in the High Court's website or
print out thereof at par with certified copy in the manner
prescribed, vide Court's Notice No.4587, dated 25th March, 2020.
