Heard Mr. B.M. Sarangi, learned counsel for the petitioner
and Mr. P. Behera, learned Standing Counsel for Transport
Department.
Perused the record. The petitioner has filed this application
challenging the tax and penalty imposing on his vehicle by the
authority.
Considering the contention raised in the writ petition and
after hearing learned counsel for the opposite party, this writ petition
is disposed of directing the opposite party to consider the case of the
petitioner in the light of the judgment passed by this Court in Sujit
Kumar Dhir v. R.T.O., Keonjhar, 2014 (II) OLR 1070.
As the restrictions due to COVID-19 situation are continuing,
learned counsel for the parties may utilize a soft copy of this order
available in the High Court's website or print out thereof at par with
certified copy in the manner prescribed, vide Court's Notice No.4587,
dated 25th March, 2020.
