                                JUDGMENT

This writ petition is filed seeking directions to the

respondents to permit the petitioner to contest the election to the

Academic Council 2020-21 under the constituency of the

Principals of first grade colleges other than colleges of oriental

languages.

2. A statement has been placed on record by the Standing

Counsel for the University wherein it is submitted that aggrieved

by the rejection of his nomination, the petitioner had approached

the Vice Chancellor and that the Vice Chancellor had considered

the petition and had ordered to accept the nomination of the

petitioner exercising the power conferred under Statute 5 of the

Kerala University (Conduct of Elections to Various Authorities or

Bodies) First Statutes, 1974. It is further submitted that the

petitioner's name will be included in the final list of candidates to

be published on 18.01.2021. The submissions are recorded. The

writ petition is closed.
