                                     JUDGMENT

The Prayer in this writ petition is to transfer and entrust the

investigation in Crime No.1823 of 2020 of Pandalam Police Station to the

District Crime Branch/Special Investigation Agency and to conduct

investigation without further delay. In the statement filed by the

Investigating Officer, it is stated that the amount of money involved in the

case being more than 5 Crores, a report as stipulated in Circular No.32 of

2020 dated 17.08.2020 of the State Police Chief, has been submitted to the

District Police Chief, for initiating action to transfer the investigation to the

Crime Branch Unit. A copy of the report is produced as Annexure R3(1).

2. Taking into account the contentions urged in the writ petition, the

report of the Investigating Officer and the directives in Circular No.32 of

2020 dated 17.08.2020, the investigation in Crime No.1823 of 2020 of

Pandalam Police Station is directed to be transferred to District Crime

Branch, as expeditiously as possible and at any rate, within a period of two

weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
