1. The judgment of conviction is for capital punishment, therefore, the reference has been made.

2. Mr. Pankaj Kumar, learned Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, has submitted that he represents the State of Jharkhand. He further submitted that he will inquire, in the meantime, whether the convict has preferred an appeal or not.

3. The office is also directed to verify whether the appeal has been preferred by the convict, namely Sanjay Soreng, and, if so, tag the present Death Reference with the said appeal.

4. The present Death Reference No. 02 of 2025 is admitted.

5. Call for the trial court records.

6. Let this matter be listed on 25th August, 2025, under the appropriate heading, immediately after receipt of the trial court records.

7. Let the name of Mr. Pankaj Kumar, learned Public Prosecutor appearing for the State of Jharkhand be reflected in the cause list.
