10/14.12.2023 Heard Mr. Chaitali C. Sinha, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Ravi Prakash, learned C.G.C. appearing for the opposite party nos. 1 and 2.

This application has been preferred by the petitioner for initiating a contempt proceeding against the opposite parties for deliberately and willfully violating the order of this court passed on 18.12.2019 in W.P.(C) No. 4543 of 2014.

The operative portion of the order dated 18.12.2019 passed in W.P.(C) No. 4543 of 2014 reads as follows:

"7. The Railway Authority is directed to pay the compensation amount of Rs.8,00,000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs) to the petitioner (father of deceased son) if it is less than to the amount of Rs.4,00,000/- with interest in view of the judgment passed by Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Union of India vs. Rina Devi (supra) with interest within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt/production of copy of this order"

Mr. Ravi Prakash, learned C.G.C. at the outset has submitted a draft of Rs. 8,00,000/- bearing no. 663590 drawn in favour of the petitioner which has been handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner. The handing over of the draft is in compliance of the order dated 18.12.2019 passed in W.P.(C) No. 4543 of 2014 and accordingly, this contempt application stands disposed of.

Let a photo-copy of the draft submitted by the learned CGC be kept on record.
