Date : 27/01/2021
R/CR.A/2163/2019 ORDER
ORAL COMMON ORDER
(PER : HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE MR. JUSTICE VIKRAM NATH)
This matter has been taken up upon a mention being made
by learned counsels for the appellant, including Senior
Advocates Mr. Nirupam Nanavaty and Mr. Yogesh Lakhani,
requesting that the appeal has been listed all of a sudden and as
the paper book runs into 18,000 pages or more, it would be
difficult to conduct the appeal today, a reasonable time has been
prayed. It is also informed that the judgment of the trial court
runs into approximately 900 pages and is in the vernacular
language and the same would require due translation. The
appeal may be listed on 03.03.2021, which will give more than a
months time to all the lawyers appearing in the appeal, including
the lawyer for CBI Shri R.C. Kodekar to prepare the matter, so
that it would be conducted on the next date onwards. Shri Virat
Popat, learned counsel appearing in one of the appeals, submits
that he already has a copy of the trial court judgment translated
in English and also the English translation of the relevant
statement of witnesses of the fact and other necessary
documents. He further, submits that he would provide a copy of
the same to all the learned counsel for the parties and also the
Court at least two weeks before the next date fixed.
R/CR.A/2163/2019 ORDER
