Learned advocate for the petitioner has submitted that a Criminal Appeal No.915 of 2006, which is filed against the judgment and conviction order dated 05.04.2006 passed by the learned Special Judge, Amreli is pending before this Court for adjudication. He has submitted that liberty may be given in case the petitioner is acquitted in criminal appeal.

The present writ petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid liberty. Notice is discharged. In case the petitioner is acquitted from the charges levelled against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, it will be open for him to file a fresh petition claiming the benefits, which he would be entitled to.
