Date : 07.01.2026.

Heard Ms. R.D. Mozumdar, learned counsel for the applicant/appellant.

This interlocutory application is filed seeking stay of the judgment and award dated 30.07.2024, passed by the learned Member, MACT, Barpeta in MAC Case No.540/2020, awarding a sum of Rs.1,80,258/- with interest @ 6% per annum from the date of filing of the claim petition i.e. 31.12.2020 at the first instance with the liberty to recovery of the awarded amount from the owner of the offending vehicle i.e. the respondent No.2 in due course of time.

Considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the applicant/appellant, let the operation of the judgment and award dated 30.07.2024 be stayed, subject to deposit of 50 % of the awarded amount before the Registry, with 6 (six) weeks from today.

With the above direction, this interlocutory application stands disposed of.
