19-02-2025 (S. K. Medhi, J) This is an appeal preferred from Jail against the judgment and order dated 30.03.2024 passed by the learned Addl. Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (POCSO), Nagaon in connection with Special (POCSO) Case No. 29(N) of 2023. Sentenced to imprisonment for life which shall mean imprisonment for the remainder of his natural life and to pay fine of Rs.50,000/- i/d SI for 6 months u/s 6 of POCSO Act, 2012. RI for 7 years and to pay fine of Rs.10,000/- i/d SI for 2 months u/s 366 of IPC.

Let steps for service of notice upon the informant/victim be taken by the Registry which is to be routed through the office of the learned PP, Assam within 2 (two) days from today.

Since this appeal is preferred from Jail, we appoint, Shri S. D. Purkayastha, learned Amicus Curiae to appear on behalf of the appellant.

List after 6 (six) weeks along with receipt of records as well as to enable the learned APP to obtain instructions regarding service of notice upon the informant/victim.

The name of the appointed Amicus Curiae be reflected in the Cause list and let all the relevant documents be served upon her.
