                          JUDGMENT (ORAL)

1. Petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 97/2013 of Police Station New Usmanpur for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act on the ground that the complainant de facto (respondent no. 2) has compromised the disputes with the petitioners.

2. State has no objection to this petition. Detailed statements of parties were recorded by the concerned Joint Registrar.

3. I have spoken with petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 in Hindi. It is submitted by them that now all their disputes stand resolved and they have got their marriage dissolved by way of decree of divorce dated 02.05.2025. Respondent no. 2 submits that she has received the entire full and final settlement amount and now she does not want to pursue prosecution of the petitioners. It is further stated by them that they have one son, currently aged about 13 years and his custody shall remain with respondent no. 2.

4. Considering the above circumstances, I am satisfied that it would be in the interest of justice not to push the parties through trial.

5. Therefore, the petition is allowed and accordingly FIR No. 97/2013 of Police Station New Usmanpur for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and proceedings arising out of the same are quashed. Pending application also stands disposed of.
