O.M.P. (MISC) (COMM.) 141/2020
1. Though the prayer, in this petition is for extension of the time available with the learned sole arbitrator to pass his award, by a period of three months with effect from 23rd February, 2020, which period has already elapsed, Mr. R. Venkat Prabhat, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that this delay has been occasioned during the intervening lockdown, as a result of which listing of this petition took time. In any event, learned counsel for the parties are ad idem that the award stands reserved, by the learned sole arbitrator and that the interests of justice would warrant extension of time, as prayed.
2. In view thereof, the time granted for rendition of the award by the learned sole arbitrator stands extended by a period of three months from today, i.e. with effect from 7th July, 2020.
3. The petition stands allowed and disposed of with the aforesaid terms.
I.A. 5070/2020
In view of the fact that the O.M.P. (MISC.) (COMM.) 141/2020 has been allowed, this application does not survive for consideration and is disposed of.
