1. On the last date of hearing Mr.Rajan Bhagat, DCP/CRO, Crime Branch had given us screenshots of the proposed mobile and web applications which would allow online registration of reports of missing persons. He had also informed us of the actions to be taken by the police control rooms and police stations, in a time-bound manner, on lodgement of the report of a missing person. He had further undertaken to this Court that the aforesaid mobile and web application shall be made functional within a period of two weeks.

2. Today Mr.Rahul Mehra, learned Standing Counsel (Crl.) for the State has handed over a fresh status report under the signature of Mr.Rejesh Deo, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Legal Cell, wherein it is stated that the web application and the mobile application (Android based) to lodge online reports of missing persons including children have been developed by the System Integrator, M/s Tech Mahindra and the same have been launched on 13.09.2019. In the status report it is further stated that the general public can now lodge the missing persons report either through the web App or by downloading the mobile App available within the Citizen Services Link on the website of Delhi Police i.e, www.delhipolice.nic.in.
