(ORAL)

1. Petitioners claim that they are Trainee Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and in this writ petition, they seek a mandamus to first respondent to place them in A&C Trade and to include the name of petitioners for the forthcoming Director General Civil Aviation Approved B-1 Course conducted by respondents. Learned counsel for petitioners submits that the aforesaid B-1 Course is likely to commence this month only. Learned counsel for petitioners claims that the relief as claimed in this petition was sought from the respondents by way of application of 22nd May, 2017 which was followed by successive applications of 15th January, 2018 and 18th January, 2018 (Annexure P-1 Colly) but to no avail.

2. In the facts and circumstances of this case, it is deemed appropriate to dispose of this petition and the applications with direction to first respondent to effectively consider petitioners' applications (Annexure P-1 Colly) within a week, if not already done and the fate of these applications be made known to petitioners within three days thereafter, so that petitioners may avail of the remedy as available in law, if need be.

3. It is made clear that if for any reason, petitioners' applications (Annexure P-1 Colly) are not accepted, then the reasons for non-acceptance be spelt out and conveyed to petitioners promptly.

4. With aforesaid directions, this petition and the applications are disposed of.

Copy of this order be given dasti to learned counsel for parties.
