1. The petitioner, who is the son of Mr. Ashok Kumar, an employee of the respondent/DTTDC, working on the post of a Cook till he had expired on 27.12.2015, has filed the present petition praying inter alia for compassionate appointment.

2. Counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner has made several representations to the respondent for his appointment on the ground that his mother (widow of the deceased employee) is not educated and unable to seek employment and his other siblings are all minors.

3. Ms. Kashyap, learned counsel for the respondent, who appears on advance notice, submits that vide letter dated 17.6.2015 addressed to the petitioner's mother, she was informed that she has been waitlisted at serial No.34 and as and when the vacancy occurs, appointment shall be made on compassionate grounds on the basis of her seniority in the waitlist.

4. Counsel for the petitioner states that the respondent may clarify that it is not the petitioner's mother who is to be waitlisted, but it is the petitioner who is seeking compassionate appointment and ought to be waitlisted.

5. Counsel for the respondent states that necessary corrections shall be carried out in the records and the name of the petitioner shall be substituted for that of his mother. A copy of the letter dated 17.6.2015 along with other correspondence exchanged by the respondent with the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, on the basis of VIP references on behalf of the petitioner, are handed over and taken on record. Copies thereof shall be furnished to the petitioner in the course of the day.

6. The writ petition is disposed of.
