Author: Amrita Sinha

Bench: Amrita Sinha

03.09.2024.

PB Sl. No.53.

In The High Court At Calcutta Constitution Writ Jurisdiction Appellate Side

WPA 20949 of 2024

Sohel Rana Mondal & Anr.

Vs The State of West Bengal & Ors.

Mr. Anindya Bose, Mr. Golam Mohiuddin, Ms. Puja Mondal.

.....for the petitioners.

Mr. B. P. Vaisya, Mr. Sagnik Chatterjee.

.....for the State.

Mr. Ratul Biswas, Mr. Kaushik Chowdhury.

......for the WBBPE.

The petitioners participated in TET, 2017. They

allege that some of the questions of the TET

examination are incorrect. The petitioners seek for a

direction to allot full marks in respect of the questions

which are allegedly incorrect.

Several writ petitions claiming similar relief were

filed before this Court. The issue went up before the

Hon'ble Division Bench and by the judgment dated

23rd August, 2024, the Hon'ble Division Bench was

pleased to constitute a committee consisting of one

member to be nominated by the Board having

proficiency in the subject in relation to the questions

over which dispute has been raised, one member from

the University of Calcutta in the relevant subject and

a further member to be nominated by the Vice-

Chancellor of the Viswa Bharati University having

knowledge and expertise in the particular subject.

The Court directed the nomination to be

completed within a fortnight from the date of

communication of this order by the respective

authorities. The State was directed to provide all

logistics to the committee members.

As it appears that the Hon'ble Division Bench,

with a view to bring a quietus to the issue in question

constituted a committee to settle the dispute,

accordingly, it will be open for the petitioners to

approach the said committee. The committee shall

take steps in the matter at the earliest.

Liberty to mention after the report is received

from the committee.
