1. This is one of the astonishing applications for extension of time. We delivered a reasoned judgment on 4th August 2022 requiring the Respondents to consider the Petitioner's application for compassionate appointment in government service. We said that the Petitioner would make an application by 29th August 2022 and the decision would be conveyed to her by 19th September 2022.

2. We are now told that the learned AGP's communication "did not reach" Mantralaya. If routine communications by email "do not reach" Mantralaya, there is going to be a compliance problem, and it is going to happen sooner rather than later.

3. We are also told that the Petitioner made the application. The file is now pending at the level of the Secretary, Home Department and that an extension of four months is required to take a decision.

4. We refuse any such prolonged extension.

5. We extend time from 19th September 2022 till 10th October 2022.

6. The matter is to be listed first on board on 11th October 2022.

7. And we will not accept an excuse that this order was not communicated or 'did not reach' Mantralaya.
