ORAL JUDGMENT (PER : SMT. VASANTI A. NAIK, J.)
Since the prayer made in these writ petitions is identical,
they are heard together and are decided by this common judgment.
Rule. Rule made returnable forthwith. The petitions are
heard finally with the consent of the learned Counsel for the parties.
The only prayer made by the petitioners is for a direction to
the respondent - Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claims of the
petitioners within a time-frame.
Shri A.M. Joshi, the learned Assistant Government Pleader
appearing on behalf of the Scrutiny Committee states, on instructions,
that the caste claims of the petitioners are pending before the Scrutiny
Committee and the same would be decided within a reasonable time.
In view of the statement made by the learned Assistant
Government Pleader, we allow the writ petitions. The respondent -
Scrutiny Committee is directed to decide the caste claims of the
petitioners, within a period of four months.
Rule is made absolute in the aforesaid terms with no order
as to costs.
