Both petitioner nos.1 and 2 have appeared in person before this Court and they have been identified by their counsel. It is stated that both petitioners are major and they have solemnized marriage out of their own sweet and free will, and the marriage is yet to be registered, in accordance with law. It is also stated that private respondent is interfering with their marital life and liberty.
Considering the facts and circumstances, petitioners are at liberty to get their marriage registered, in accordance with law, keeping in view the observations made by the Apex Court in Seema (Smt.) vs. Ashwani Kumar, (2006) 2 SCC 578, within a period of three weeks from today.
List on 24th November, 2016, before the appropriate Court.
Till the next date of listing, it is provided that in case petitioners face any threat to their life and liberty, they shall be at liberty to approach the concerned Senior Superintendent of Police, who shall take all steps, as may be required in law, to ensure that life and liberty of the petitioners are not interfered with, keeping in view the observations made by the Apex Court in Lata Singh vs. State of U.P., AIR 2006 SC 2522.
