Learned counsel for the petitioner is permitted to implead State Election Commission as respondent no. 9 and serve the copy of the writ petition to learned counsel appearing for the State Election Commission during the course of the day.
Heard Sri Shashi Ranjan Srivastava, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the State-respondents and Sri K.M. Akram, holding brief of Ms. Tahira Kazmi, learned counsel for the State Election Commission.
In substance, the petitioner appears to be aggrieved by non-disposal of Election Petition No. T 20151173063618 (Vinod Vs. Niranjan and Others) pending before Sub Divisional Officer concerned.
Having heard learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is disposed of with the direction to Sub Divisional Officer concerned to decide the aforesaid Election Petition expeditiously in accordance with law keeping in mind the urgency of the matter and other pending cases of such nature before him, without granting any unnecessary adjournments to the learned counsel for the parties.
