The learned Standing Counsel states that in pursuance of the directions which have been issued from time to time by this Court, a Government Order has been issued to streamline and expedite the process of disposing of revenue cases.
We are of the view that it would be necessary for the State Government to inform the Court of the steps which have been taken; the total pendency of cases district wise; length of pendency and the rate of disposal in the years commencing from 1 January 2013. We, accordingly, direct that the State Government shall furnish statistics with regard to the pendency of cases of less than three years, between 3 and 5 years and between 5 and 10 years and cases more than 10 years old which are still pending. This exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from today. A counter affidavit shall be filed specifically on these aspects.
List thereafter.
