The contention of the petitioner is that in view of Section 24 of the Right  to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (hereinafter referred to as the "Act"), all the acquisition proceedings stood abated inasmuch as the amount of compensation has not been paid before the commencement of this Act.

Learned counsel for the respondent submitted that Right  to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 applies in a case where acquisition has been made under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 also.

In the present case, the land of the petitioner has been acquired under the U.P. Avas Vikas Adhiniyam, 1965. The question is whether the Act of 2013 applies in the case of the said Act.

Learned counsel for both the parties requested that the matter may be adjourned to look into the matter.
