1. This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus in context of Smt. Manju, the alleged detenue. The petition has been filed through Sri Ravi Kant alias Madan Sharma with the allegations that respondent nos.1 and 2 namely Raj Kumar, brother of Manju, and Ram Pravesh, a third person, have illegally detained Smt. Manju.
2. Under directions of the court Sub Inspector Sri Satyapal of Police Station Malihabad, has produced Smt. Manju.
3. Smt. Manju has made a statement in court with some startling facts making allegations against Station House Officer of Police Station Auras, District Unnao, that he had dragged Smt. Manju to the police station in the dead of night; cut her hairs; and had given beating to her. Beatings were also given to her husband Ravi Kant.
4. Considering peculiar facts and circumstances of the fact, this court finds that it is a case of serious violation of human rights.
5. Sri Amarjeet Singh Rakhra, Advocate, is hereby appointed as amicus curiae in this case to assist the court.
6. It is directed that Statement of Smt. Manju and Sri Ravi Kant be taken and an affidavit be filed before this court by 29.4.2013.
