This writ petition has been filed with a prayer to quash the First Information Report dated 24.02.2011 registered as Case Crime No. 48 of 2011, under Sections 498-A, 323, 504, 506 and 379 I.P.C. and ¾ Dowry Prohibition Act, Police Station Phulpur, District Allahabad.

We have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the records.

This matter was referred to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre, High Court, Allahabad for mediation under order of this Court dated 18.03.2011.

Report of the mediation centre dated 05.08.2011 is on record. It has been reported that mediation has been completed but no agreement could be arrived.

We have gone through the First Information Report. It does disclose a cognizable offence. No case for quashing of the First Information Report is made out.

Writ petition is dismissed.

Interim order if any stands discharged.

Learned A.G.A. is directed to forward a copy of this order of the Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police concerned, who in turn shall ensure that investigation is completed with due diligence, if not already completed.
