This writ petition has been filed with a prayer to quash the First Information Report dated 14.08.2010 registered as Case Crime No. 1865 of 2010 under Sections 498-A, 323, 504, 506 I.P.C. and ¾ Dowry Prohibition Act, Police Station Qila, District Bareilly. 

Under the order dated 08.11.2010 the matter being matrimonial in nature, was referred for mediation. Outcome of the mediation is not known.

We have examined the First Information Report. We are satisfied that it does disclose a cognizable offence. No case for quashing of the F.I.R. is made out.

Writ petition is dismissed.

Interim order, if any, stands discharged.

Learned A.G.A. is directed to forward a copy of this order to the Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police concerned, who in turn shall ensure that investigation is completed with due diligence, if not already completed.
