Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute approved research on electoral management and democratic governance themes.
  • Write policy briefs and contribute to thematic reports.
  • Assist in surveys, literature reviews and background material for IIIDEM’s Schools and Centres; support training of the electoral workforce across domestic themes.
  • Present findings at platforms as per IIIDEM’s discretion; maintain research documentation and data integrity.

Eligibility Criteria

  • UGC-NET qualified in a relevant subject such of Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration or other discipline related to Democracy and Election Management from a UGC-recognised university / institution; OR
  • A Master’s degree in International Electoral Management and Practices (MIEMP), an approved program of ECI offered through TISS.
  • Research experience in election studies or democracy research — e.g., national / state election studies, voter-behaviour or political-participation surveys, electoral-data analysis, or comparable work in recognised research institutions or programmes;
  • Published research papers in Scopus / UGC-CARE listed journals, policy briefs or other academic publications in relevant areas;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mixed-methods research (survey design, qualitative methods, quantitative analysis of electoral data) and high-quality academic writing in English

Remuneration

  • ₹60,000 – ₹80,000 per month (consolidated).
  • Annual increase of up to 10% linked to performance evaluation.
