INTRODUCTION

Sharad Bhamkar Sir is currently appointed as a Secretary in the DISTRICT LEGAL SERVICE AUTHORITY JABALPUR and also a Addl. District Judge.  His office is situated in District Court, Jabalpur (M.P.).

Sharad Bhamkar Sir  joined Judicial Services on 28/07/2003 in Jotri .

Before joining Judicial Services in 2003, he practised as  an Advocate and use to deal with both civil and criminal matter.The Interviewer, Rohan Upadhyay, is a  3rd Year Student of Bhartiya Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune. Q1. Tell us something about your early childhood and schooling?

Ans. I was born and bought up in Raipur, therefore  my schooling was done in private school Raipur only.

Q2. How did you decide to choose law as your career?

Ans. I don’t have any legal background, but my interest in this field made me choose law as a career and my father who supported my decision.

Q3. Are you a first generation lawyer ?

Ans. Yes, I think so that I’m  first generation. As many of the major legal amendments were done when I was in mid of my profession and moreover I became judge in year 2003 and before that I was practicing as an advocate.

Q4. How do you think law school education has changed since then?

Ans. Yes l law education has sown a tremendous change in its field since then. Earlier there were no internships programs as you are having, no guest lectures, no moot court in colleges and as you are a 5 year law student earlier there use to be only 3 year LLB degree course after U.G.

More over law school are conducting various law program to enhance the quality of education.Q5. How was your experience in law school?

Ans. As I said I was from Raipur, I had done my college from private law college there only, as such there was no facilities as in now. We were taught law in classes only and all these extra circular activities were not there. But our teachers were very helpful. So my experience is good.

Q6. Please share your first day experience as a Judge ?

Ans. Well it’s a long time back when I become judge in year 2003. On my first day I was given 25 files and a case was there relating to section 323 of IPC and on the second day only I gave judgment on that case with imprisonment of 1 year.

Q7. What according to you are the areas where legal system in our country need to be improved?

Ans. I my point of view firstly the investigation process needs to be improved. It should be based on scientific evidence which is lacking in Indian legal system. Secondly,  filing should be done properly.

Q8. What are the strengths of Indian legal system which makes its strongest pillar of democracy?

Ans.  1. Principal of natural justice

  2. justice before everything

Q9. Any success tips you want to share with us?

Ans.  If  you are preparing for judicial services, you should know that how to convert one page answer into 4 lines and then again how to convert it into one page with your own knowledge.

Lastly it’s the Hardwork that matters the most in every field.

Q10. What is your current position in Legal Services Authority?

Ans.   Now I’m Secretary in DISTRICT LEGAL SERVICE AUTHORITY JABALPUR and also holding post of ADJ.  SALSA's main aim is to provide legal aid to the poor sections of society and give them justice.
