State sought permission from Arvind Gupta to translate his videos into Tamil to be uploaded on their channel.

Missed a class at school? Don’t worry. You can catch up on a YouTube channel of Tamil Nadu State Council of Education and Research Training (TNSCERT).

Channel that has over 12,000 subscribers, caters to the students of varying age groups and features videos across the several school subjects.

While the mathematics classes account for most of the videos, there are also playlists on subjects like Economics, English, Science and even Career Guidance.

Videos are bilingual, with the teachers explaining many subjects in Tamil. Most of the videos are recordings of the regular school classes, in which the teachers and students actively involve in the discussions. This keeps videos interactive as one can hear the students answer and ask questions in background.

Along with the subjects students learn at school, Channel also features songs, rhymes, lectures on the information and Communication Technology and even toys, for that matter.

TNSCERT has sought permission from famous science-toy-maker, Arvind Gupta, to translate his videos into Tamil to be uploaded on their channel.

While the students have a lot to learn from the channel, there is content that teachers too can make use of like the playlist of 26 video recordings of National Teacher’s Programme (NTP).

The YouTube channel was started over a year ago and the recent spike in the traffic attracted by Channel has encouraged the officials to discuss its expansion.
