Manjeetsingh Bagga, 63, a resident of Navrangpura, lodged a complaint against Mandeepsingh Makhija, his son-in-law who is from Saharanpur, UP, on Saturday, for sending him indecent images & messages on his phone.
Bagga stated in the First Information Report (FIR) that Makhija had also made fake invitations purporting to be of his daughters wedding & reception, & sent them to Bagga's mobile phone.
According to First Information Report (FIR), Bagga stated the couple had got married in 2013 had moved to Canada. "As they didn't get along, his daughter returned to India to stay with him. Makhija also came back to India after a while & stayed at a rented house in Ambawadi," said a police official.
The First Information Report (FIR) states that Makhija then vacated the rented house & vanished. "According to the First Information Report (FIR), in 2016, they got his contact details & called him to Ahmedabad for a compromise. He came & said that would give them his address in 5 or 6 days & went away," a police official said.
After a few days, Bagga & his family learned that Makhija had filed an application of complaint against them. "The Bagga family then learned that his address provided was one from Mahaveernagar extension in New Delhi. After an inquiry, the application was closed by the cops.
The First Information Report (FIR) states that on Mar 14, 2018, Makhija sent Bagga his indecent pictures of his daughter & photos of boys with whom they were in contact for a match for her. According to the First Information Report (FIR), in Feb 2019, Makhija made fake wedding & reception invitation cards for Bagga's daughter & sent them to him through a messaging app. A Gujarat University police station official said they are verifying the allegations made in the First Information Report (FIR).
