Out of 25 Lakhs as many as 5.5 Lakhs are from neighbouring States.

On Saturday, around 25,00,000 job aspirants appeared in a competitive written examination for only 6,000 Group D posts of West Bengal govt. amid high security in the state.

Examinees who appeared in centres across West Bengal, included 5.5 lakhs from other states like Bihar & Jharkhand.

The state govt. examination for recruitment of group D employees is being held after a long time gap.

The Mamata Banerjee govt. didn't hold any examination for Group D posts despite being in power since year 2011.

West Bengal Transport Department deployed its full strength of bus & ferry services, besides arranging for cabs to enable lakhs of candidates reach their respective examination venues without any hassles.

The Indian Railways also particularly ensured timely running of the trains on Saturday i.e. the day of examination.

Traffic police, home guards, civic volunteers were deployed in the busy intersections in full strength to guide so many examinees to the centres & also prevent traffic congestion.
