CM Naveen Patnaik on Friday dismissed 16 govt officials from service following their conviction in corruption cases, taking the total number of such dismissals to 37 in the past one month.
The action against the govt employees has been taken after they were convicted by the vigilance court in several corruption cases.
16 employees including 4 engineers, 5 headmasters, 2 revenue inspectors, one pharmacist, amin, panchayat executive officer each & 2 clerks were dismissed on Friday, the CM's Office said in a statement.
This is the 3rd such action in the past one month in which a total of 37 govt officials have been dismissed & the pension of 6 employees has been stopped.
The govt said that the govt employees' dismissal from the service was in lines with the CM's zero-tolerance policy on corruption.
