Next time you are tested at wheel for a driving licence, be prepared to have your performance video-recorded.
AAP Government has informed Delhi HC that it has agreed to HC's suggestion to the record practical tests taken by the applicants as a step to prevent the untrained or rash drivers from getting licences.
The submissions were made by Delhi Government's Standing Counsel Satyakam who submitted before the HC Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar.
Court had suggested the move during last date of hearing in April,2017.
Counsel stated that Government and its transport department had also decided that the closed circuit cameras will be installed in the areas where written tests are conducted.
The PIL had been filed by, Social Activist Pawan Kumar who alleged that there was collusion and rampant corruption in City's Transport Department, and had blamed its officials for a spate of the accidents caused by speeding and rash driving.
