Policemen deployed in fairs, protests & Very Important Person (VIP) routes have been barred from using their mobile phones while on duty. On Tuesday, Rajasthan police issued an order asking its personnel to handover their mobile phones to their designated duty officers. The phones will be returned after they complete their duty.
“It has come to the notice of the department that often police personnel posted in important duties like Very Very Important Person (VVIP), Very Important Person (VIP) visits, fairs, festivals, road jams, protests etc, are always remain busy in chatting on their mobile phones, because of which they don’t focus on their duties,” the order stipulates. The police have also directed that the reserved companies sent for traffic management willn't be allowed to use phones.
